Brown Joins Jets
5th September 2007
The BiG Storage Cheshire Jets have signed 24-year-old power forward Chris Brown, after it emerged that David Radlovic would not be able to join up with the squad due to a change in his personal circumstances.
"TJ has been scouting for recruits for the squad in the States throughout the summer", said Paul Smith, BiG Storage Cheshire Jets' Director of Basketball, "and when it became clear that David would not be able to join us, he was able, almost immediately, to sign up an alternative player capable of replacing him in the Power Forward position - that is the advantage of having someone there on the spot."
Brown, who is 6'7" and graduated from NCAA college Chattanooga in Tennessee, has previously played for Bayer Giants Leverkusen (in the German Bundesliga) and later Basket Esch [of Luxemburg] where he averaged 25 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He has recently been playing in the ABA for the Tennessee Mud Frogs where he has been averaging 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
"We are delighted to have signed up Chris - he has excellent size, athleticism and skills", said TJ Walker, "and he fits the pattern which the Jets team will play this season. We expect him to make a major impact on the league"
Further announcements are expected imminently as to the remaining members of the Jets roster, with a number of players involved in contract discussions.
The Jets begin the season against the Kularoos Plymouth Raiders on Friday 21st September.
