Keep it gannin!!
After only getting one point in last week's home match against lowly Elgin we began to wonder if the nerves were kicking in as Rangers went on in pursuit of the league title and hard-earned promotion. Well, they are still there to a degree but it is still another three points into the bargain!
An early goal from Stuart Fraser, who showed good awareness to net after a free-kick from Stephen Noble came back off the post, should have settled the visitors but it was actually Albion Rovers who went on to have the better of the remainder of the first half. They could and should have got back on level terms but poor finishing was their downfall.
Surprisingly, the second half was a bit of a dour affair and, in the end, Rangers held on fairly comfortably for the vital points.
Closest challengers Arbroath are certainly fighting all the way and took three points in their home match against Queen's Park, winning by the only goal of the game. This keeps them two points behind Rangers and guess what....Berwick v Arbroath next week in what could virtually be the title decider.
Come on boys, you can do it!
