Bye, Bye Boss....

Berwick Rangers 2 Raith Rovers

24 April 2008

With a disastrous season heading towards a close, one more hammering was too much to take and resulted in the departure of boss Michael Renwick. Things were hardly on a high when he took over but some sort of improvement had been expected and when it did not transpire then the inevitable had to happen. Mind you, even Kevin Keegan would struggle here!!

As for the game itself, it all started so brightly with Rangers going two up through McLaren and the consistent Scott Gemmill. However, two pieces of slack defending before and after half-time were seized upon by Weir and suddenly it was all square.

From then on in, there was only one team in it and three further goals from Carcary, Sloan and Brice took the game well and truly out of Rangers' reach.

Even dropping down a division, it looks like next season will be a long and difficult one.

Anyone brave enough --or maybe stupid enough!!--can apply to Shielfield Park for the post of manager!
