Cowdenbeath 3 Berwick Rangers 1

Cowdenbeath 3 Berwick Rangers 1

There were no goals and not a lot of chances in a dour first-half on Rangers' visit to Fife. In the current situation Rangers would be happy to contain the opposition and take their chances on the break.

The game did liven up after the hour mark and the first goal did eventually arrive but, alas, it was for the home side. Striker Clarke sneaked in to net the opener and, at last, the game livened up.

Rangers then showed the required fight and, within seven minutes, Diack slotted the equaliser and now the game was anybody's. Unfortunately it was Clarke again who caused most problems and went on to score twice more, completing his hat-trick and completing a bad day for the visitors.

With Brechin winning at home to Queen's Park, Berwick now find themselves propping up the table and it looks like a long, hard dogfight beckons.
