Good Try Berwick

Berwick Rangers 1 Ayr United 1

With Rangers still adrift at the foot of the table a good start was the order of the day to try to get the three points so desperately needed. But what transpired? The visitors were a goal up within seven minutes through Stevenson so the proverbial writing was on the wall again.

But it was not to be. The new hierarchy at Shielfield appear to have found the fight within the ranks and, rather than meekly go under, they showed the strength to fight their way back into the game.

Unlucky not to be on level terms before the break, it took only four minutes to equalise with a fine effort by the impressive Diack.

In fairness to Ayr they too showed good spirit and a fine second half failed to produce any more goals despite several near things.

So a point is better than nowt but I am sure it is the manner in which that point was gained that will be the focal point from the management team.
