Darlington let slip!

Wycombe Wanderers closer to the automatic promotion places in League Two with a spectacular overhead goal from Leon Knight.

Knight gave Wycombe the lead in the 24th minute, when the Darlington defence failed to clear a cross from the right, allowing Knight to hold off his marker and pull off an acrobatic right-footed kick scoring a great goal. The game was finished for Darlington with six minutes to play when McGleish place the ball into the net past David Stockdale.

The first goal seemed to lift the home side and they had the Quakers defence growing frustrated with the constant threat posed by Knight. It eventually got to Ricky Ravenhill, who dived in with his studs up on the front man to pick up the game's first booking shortly before half-time. Most of the action in the game was in our half and we seemed to be unable to give a good Wycombe side a run for their money.

Rob Purdie had arguably Darlington's best chance of the match after 64 minutes, striking the ball from 20 yards out and just missing the angle by inches.
