Darlo lose faith

Swindon 1 Darlington 1

Hartlepool set a new club record as they extended their unbeaten run to 22 games, beating their local rivals Darlington 3-0. Eifion Williams scored twice as top-of-the-table Hartlepool remained firm favourites to end up champions. Striker Williams fired in past Sam Russell from a narrow angle in the 39th minute and followed this in the second half with a spectacular second when he spotted Russell off his goal line and his clinical lob from 25-yards out doubled Polls advantage.

The game was finished in the 79th minute when James Brown raced clear and fired against a post and Andy Monkhouse headed the loose ball in to seal victory.

Darlington should not be downhearted by this game. They have lost their unbeaten run but when you think what Hartlepool have done recentlky that’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Please don’t let the lads lose faith. Forget this and just get on with getting a play off place.
