Pool lose their winning streak

Shrewsbury 1 Hartlepool 1

It shows how far Hartlepool have come in recent months when they are disappointed to only get one point in a difficult away game! Although the winning run has come to an end the unbeaten run continues.

This was a very difficult match on a glue-pot pitch which did not allow for 'Pool to play their normal crisp, passing game.

However the defence battled well with Michael Nelson outstanding.

'Pool dominated the first-half and it was no surprise when James Brown rifled home from 15 yards following confusion in the Shrews defence.

It was a different story after the break with Shrewsbury holding the upper hand and putting the Hartlepool back line under pressure.

Eventually they equalised when Michael Symes slotted home. A strange occurrence since this is the first goal conceded by 'Pool in TEN games!
