Boro HAMMERED!!

West Ham 2 Middlesbrough 0

Well and Truly "Hammered"!

My man at Upton Park tells us that this was probably 'Boro's worst performance of the season, creating little in attack and defending haphazardly. Although in all likelihood they will be safe this season, a little bit of uneasiness might just creep in if their form and results do not take an upward trend. On the other hand a couple more of these types of results and West Ham will be fancying their chances of an amazing survival.

The home side showed much more willing than the visitors and in Carlos Tevez they had someone a little bit special. Tevez and little pieces of good fortune meant that West Ham were two goals up by half-time. Tevez was allowed too much space on the right and his cross took not one but two deflections and fell invitingly into the path of Zamora who could hardly miss. After many near-misses it was Tevez himself who got the vital second when, from a left wing cross, Talor inexplicably failed to move his legs and the ball bounced off his knee to Tevez who cracked it home.

'Boro will have to improve dramatically to win a few games before the end of the season and we can only feel sorry for the 3,000 or so fans who made the trek down south for this.

P.S. It is a sad state of affairs when Stewart Downing is booed throughout because he was a part of England's poor performances last week. Players may start thinking twice before playing for their country. How sad is that?
