Three vital ones!

Portsmouth 0 Middlesbrough 1

I have seen Portsmouth several times on their travels and what a good side they look. However, for some obscure reason, their home form--apart from the 7 against Reading--is incredible.

They just can't score. So was today a good time to go to Pompey or are they due to really thrash somebody? Thankfully it was the former. Again the home side could not score and 'Boro just had to take one of their few chances to gain a vital three points.

The goal itself came when former Portsmouth man O'Neil was given the freedom of Fratton Park to get a bit of a shot on goal. In the end it proved to be the perfect pass for Tuncay to keep up his good recent goal record by tapping home from almost on the goal-line.

Good defending frustrated the home team although Kanu did hit a post late on but in the end 'Boro held on reasonably comfortably to move up the table.

Now for a bit of consistency?
