Tired?!

Middlesbrough 0 Reading 1

Can playing and winning an F.A. Cup tie in midweek really be the excuse for under-performing on the Saturday? Well I certainly cannot buy into that.

What a poor game and the luckiest people were probably those who failed to fill no fewer than 10,000 seats! Reading are on the crest of a slump with eight straight away defeats whilst 'Boro are showing a bit of form and they have big signing Alves gradually attaining match fitness. Surely there can be only one outcome. Wrong!!

In a very, very poor match there is very little to report at all until the final minute when Stephen Hunt --a recent transfer target for Sunderland-- showed good touch and pace, which was a novelty in itself, to play the ball into the box for the onrushing Harper to fire home. Three great points for Reading and a day to forget for 'Boro.

On this exhibition there will be even more empty seats next time round!!
