Unfair reflection--Again!?

Birmingham 3 Middlesbrough 0

After the match there was again the talk of the result not being a true reflection of the game. Well, sorry, but the fact remains that Birmingham have won by three clear goals and done themselves a real favour in moving up the league whereas the 3-0 defeat for 'Boro leaves them with a real struggle on their hands.

Okay, the first goal was unlucky when Downing sliced the ball into his own goal although the talented McSheffrey deserves some of the credit for a great delivery into the box from a free-kick on the right.

From my point of view the defending prior to the second goal was poor. So many defenders standing there whilst Forssell made the effort to get the merest touch on the ball to see it squirm in at the post. 2-0 and a real uphill struggle.

Tuncay again showed a bit of class and forced Taylor into a decent save but, as the game proceeded, Brum looked more and more comfortable.

The clincher came from a McSheffrey penalty after a crude challenge on the same player from the flailing Huth.

We can talk all we like about 'Boro's victory against Arsenal but that is a thing of the past and it is the present and the future that is of importance now......
