Who said Man City were down?

Middlesbrough 0 Man City 2

With Man City on such a poor run and their manager under severe scrutiny from the press, this was a great chance for 'Boro to get a confidence-boosting victory before the big replay at Old Trafford in two days time.

But can Middlesbrough really afford to leave out their big players. Are they in a position to rotate--as they call it!--as can the likes of Man. U., Chelsea and Arsenal.

Apparently not because a poor performance helped the visitors to gain a much needed victory through goals by Distin who was given the freedom of the Riverside and M'penza who showed great pace to latch on to a through ball from the impressive Joey Barton.

It does not seem like a good idea for the manager to say that the players' minds were on Monday and that they maybe were not going into tackles that they would do normally!

But will a win at Old Trafford and a place in the semi's mean forgiveness?

We shall find out.
