Scary, very scary......

Newcastle United 1 Manchester United 5

It is bad news when you go to a match at St.James' and, deep down, you are hoping that we do not get beaten by too many.

The difference in class between these two teams was monumental, to say the least. Maybe we made them look even better than they actually are but, from a neutrals point of view, this must have been a pleasure to behold. Rooney and Ronaldo further enhanced their glowing reputations. Both scored twice but it was their overall skill, confidence and work-rate that caught the eye. Add to this the touch and vision of Tevez and the blossoming skill of Nani and it really is backs-to-the-wall stuff. Man U were so far ahead that for long spells they played four up front and coped so easily with what little Newcastle had to offer.

As for the goals, the first came from a magnificent bit of skill from Ronaldo who looked to be going nowhere up the left wing but, with a fantastic bit of skill he made enough space to cross beautifully to Rooney who slapped it in, having been allowed too much space by N'Zogbia. I can't be too hard on the lad because he is not a left-back. Any thought of a possible point were shattered with the second goal right on half-time. With The Toon's back four spread across the pitch, Carrick played a simple through ball on to the flying Ronaldo who, with the utmost confidence, knocked it home. Comical stuff the third. Ronaldo fell over and was getting stick from the crowd but he was up in a flash to slip the ball past the floundering Taylor, go round Harper and calmly slot home.

Faye's goal from a loose ball following a corner was never going to be anything more than a consolation and, as if to prove a point, the visitors went straight up the other end and Rooney bent a peach of a shot past Harper.

Then, to add insult to injury, Saha was given the freedom of St James to side-foot home a pass from the ultra-impressive Rooney.

So that is amazingly 11-1 on aggregate this season! Where do we go from here? Well, it is difficult to see where our next points are coming from. Under normal circumstances we would be looking to beat a team like Blackburn at home but they are going along nicely. A tough team with Bentley and Pederson giving tham that little touch of class.

Unfortunately I bet they are really looking forward to next Saturday!
