Viduka
8 June 2007
So we have indeed signed Mark Viduka. Although 31 he is a talented lad and could form a dangerous strike-force with Michael Owen, who must have been delighted to get on the score sheet for England in their very fortunate win over the mighty Estonia! This from a Jock who was panicking about The Faroe Islands!!
With Joey Barton as good as signed I am delighted that we have gone into the market early and not waited till the last minute when prices can go up and your original favoured players have gone elsewhere.
With Viduka coming in, will Martins be on his way out? As per Scott Parker, if we get a good offer, I would grab it and, if allowed, use the money to start the reshaping of our defence. I would see Andy Carroll making further progress this season and he could be the type of striker that could appeal to big Sam.
So where does that leave Ameobi? Love him or hate him, he had a nightmare of a season on the injury front and will be desperate to show what he is capable of.
Come on, do you love Sheola or not? Should he stay or should he go?
As a side note, would you like the idea of Keiron Dyer playing at right-back as could be the plan?
