No anaesthetic required

Fulham 0 Newcastle United 1

I spent the weekend in hospital getting my old beak sorted out and I owe both Fulham and Newcastle a vote of thanks because I watched the most boring match I have ever seen and I needed no anaesthetic at all to conk out!!!

I watched Fulham at Everton last week and they are not a good side. Don't believe Sam Allardyce when he says they are in a false position in the league, they are where they deserve to be--bottom three!!!

There were a couple of half chances during the game but very little more. O.K. we won the game in the end and we will happily accept the three points but surely we must all deserve better than this. Surely we can go to somewhere like Fulham, who are having a real bad time, and have a go at them.

Anyway, Alan Smith used his experience in the dying seconds of the match and tempted young Omozusi to slide in as he nicked the ball past him.

Penalty it was and Joey Barton stuck it in the corner for his first Toon goal.

Three points but not a lot else to shout about.
