Sunderland almost do the impossible

Arsenal 3 Sunderland 2
Unfortunately it all started predictably with Arsenal playing their classy brand of football and putting Sunderland under pressure. Unlike last season, Arsenal are now finishing off their fantastic build-up play and, true to form, they were two up within 15 minutes.
First, Van Persie--what a talent he is-- thrashed an unstoppable free-kick into the top of the net past a helpless Gordon and then Senderos somehow just got enough on his shot as he fell back for it to bounce agonisingly into the corner of the net.
Oh dear!!
But, as on many occasions of late, Sunderland did not lie down and die. In actual fact, not only did they stem the tide, but got back into the game with a fine Ross Wallace strike from the edge of the box.
Game back on!
And it certainly was when, soon after the break, Jones used all his power and heading ability to get on the end of a left wing cross to equalise.
You could sense the home support and players thinking that this was not how the script was meant to go. However, as they do, Arsenal got back on track and it took them until ten minutes from time to notch what turned out to be the winner. Again it was Van Persie. This time he took a neat pass from Walcott with his left foot and, somehow, in a flash, he got his shot away with the same foot.
There are not going to be many teams who get points down here so I feel Roy Keane will major on the bravery and fight shown in very difficult situations to boost his side for the future.
