Wonderland on the up in Wales

Cardiff City 0 Sunderland 1

Another great away win in the quest for The Premiership, taking Sunderland into the top two, albeit probably briefly if, as expected, Birmingham beat their local rivals Coventry in the Sunday match.

In a match producing not a lot of goalmouth incidents it took a rather fortuitous goal from impressive substitute Ross Wallace to ensure that all three points headed back to the North-East. Cardiff 'keeper Neil Alexander got himself in a real cafuffle in attempting to keep Wallace's free-kick out and allowed the ball to slip home.

Next game is a Keane v McCarthy re-match and the timing could hardly be better with Wolves amazingly losing 6-0 at home to Southampton. But let's not start that chicken counting--not just yet, anyway!
