Keane goes for Top Keeper
18 July 2007
Now, as you may have gathered, I am a Jock and proud of it. I keep mentioning great players of the past from my homeland, Denis Law, Jim Baxter, Tony Green etc.
However one thing I can never disguise is that we don't half struggle for goalkeepers. I don't think Frank Haffey did us any favours way back in 1963 when he flung a few in when England luckily beat us 9-3--as far as I can remember it was nine breakaways!
But Roy Keane is nothing if not single minded and he has bid 9 million for Hearts goalie Craig Gordon. To be fair I have had some great reports about him and he is a wanted man by several clubs.
So hopefully the deal will go through and he will prove that we do occasionally produce a top 'keeper north of the border.
