I have received an invitation to attend the Blyth Spartans match against Redditch on Saturday along with afew other former managers and coaches. I had a great couple of years managing Spartans and am delighted to be going back.
I must admit to having lost touch a bit with the non-league side of the game so I am looking forward to seeing the standard and enjoying a good open game between two sides trying their utmost to win the match. If the standard has remained similar then any lack of skill will be more than made up for in endeavour.
So the plan for the day--watch first half of derby in "The Diamond", get down to Blyth a.s.a.p., meet everybody, watch second half in the boardroom and then enjoy a Spartans victory to make it a double celebration!!!
