Funny old weekend

It was a funny old weekend on the football front with only two games on Saturday and only one of these at the "normal" 3.00 kick-off time; changed days with the telly running the show.

So there were no fewer than eight games on Sunday, one of which was Newcastle v. Everton, two of my former clubs. As I met Geordies and Evertonians alike I can happily admit that I was unashamedly two-faced!!

And what a day I had. My mate Andrew from The Landmark--best Chinese in the famous Stowell Street--invited me for lunch with a real, true dyed-in-blue Evertonian and then off to the game which was quite open and entertaining for the most part. Then afterwards I was invited out for dinner with another mate of mine John Jones, who runs H.M. Plant, because he also had a mad Evertonian client up for the game.

So enough food and drink to last a lifetime!

It certainly has its benefits being an old footballer!!
