MICHAEL OWEN

I was invited down to the Villa v Everton match on Sunday. Good hospitality, good company, poor game.

We learned that Newcastle had won 3-1. Great news! On with the radio on the way home to find out how we had played, who scored, etc.

Can you believe it was two hours before we got news of the goal scorers!

Nigel Pearson was interviewed and only asked about Michael Owen. The report of the game only discussed Michael Owen. The big question was would he be fit for England.

We don't care! We want to know when he is going to be fit for The Toon and if that means missing England games then so be it.

This is nothing to do with being a "Jock" but he should be our prize asset and the priority must be to play games and finish 90 minutes for Newcastle United on a regular basis then, by all means, play for your country.

Am I right or wrong?
