Now for the real "Big One"

Having gone through a shocking run, not merely in terms of results, but in performance as well, we are told by all and sundry that The Toon are back because we give "a much improved performance" at Blackburn. For one thing, we still got beat 3-1 and for another, it is not exactly a claim to fame because it was so bad it just HAD to get better!!

I hear we put in a lot more effort. How sad is that because total effort should be the norm.

Arsenal at home could have been disastrous, but, credit where it is due, we had a go, gave as good as we got and came out of it with a draw against the best footballing team in England.

That was being called a big game but I really believe that Saturday against Birmingham is the real big game. I have seen Brum a couple of times this season and they are certainly no world beaters. If we cannot start to beat teams like this at home then there is a problem. In cliche terms it is a "must win" game.

No pressure then!!
