Still Going Strong

Being a typical "Jock" I am still waiting for the proverbial bubble to burst with regard to Scotland's qualification effort.

I had all my family here so my local, "The Diamond", kindly offered to put the match against Ukraine on one of their screens whilst the more Anglified persona watched the England game on the others. So there we are, eight of us (including my grandson Rory suitably attired in his Scotland shirt!).

Needless to say the others wondered what was going on when, after three minutes, there is rather a loud roar, followed by another some seven minutes later.

The game had been fairly level and we were two up through two free-kick routines that actually worked.

Schevshenko equalised and the writing was on the wall as the talented visitors took control. But we are nothing if not fighters and not only did we survive but McFadden added another fine effort to his repertoire to knock in the vital third.

Guess where I will be 6.00 on Wednesday!!
