The Good, The Bad and The Downright Ugly......

So the Euro Champs are under way and, for a sad old man like me, it is fantastic. Two matches every night!
There seems to be a lot more interest than expected especially considering that not one team from our little islands made it! The BBC have started a bit of a trend with their "Who are you supporting?" slogan.
I wish I had written this before the match but my big bet was on Holland to beat Italy--honestly! I watched Italy struggle to beat Scotland and thought that Holland, under the guidance of Van Basten, might cause them a few problems--and I was right, for a change! So I have taken Holland to win the tournament at a good price, chiefly because they were grouped with Italy and France.
So Holland, Spain and Portugal are "the good" so far but how bad were France?! They have problems. Alongside France in the "bad" category must come Romania and poor old Austria - as hosts was the only way they would ever qualify!
Greece won the last competition by stopping opponents from playing. They tried the same against Sweden so I am delighted they got beaten. They do play "ugly"!
