Falcons announce new contracts!
30 May 2007
Newcastle Falcons have announced new contracts for four of their promising young backs.
Winger Ollie Phillips has agreed a new two-year deal, as has centre Tom Dillon, while fellow centres Alex Tait and Adam Dehaty have signed up for another season.
England Sevens international Phillips (24) has scored four tries in his three starts and four bench outings this season.
Former Durham University centre Dillon (23) has made one start and four replacement appearances in his first season with the club.
England Under-19s centre/fullback Tait is yet to make his first team debut, while Dehaty featured for the Falcons in their victory over London Wasps in February 2005.
Director of rugby John Fletcher said: “Ollie, Tom, Alex and Adam offer us good options in the back line, and I’m delighted to have secured new contracts with all four of them.
“We have shown our proven track record in developing young English players, and we are fortunate to have such a talented group to work with going forward.”
