Falcons con the Saras

Newcastle Falcons 20 Saracens 14

Falcons maintained their fine home form with a win over Saracens, but only when an apparently good try by the visitors in the last minute was disallowed by the ref for a previous misdemeanour. What a fine chap!

An early try by Geoff Parling gave Falcons the start they wanted but Saracens fought back to score through Paul Gustard. With Glen Jackson doing his bit for Saracens with three penalties, Crichton's fine try before the break meant that it was all square at 14-14 at the break.

The difference in the second half was the boot of Crichton who slotted two penalties to ensure that the Falcons ran out 20-14 winners--but not before that heart-stopping last minute!

Toby Flood did The Falcons proud by scoring 16 points for England in their fine win over France at the week-end, including a neat try. Unfortunately he had to be substituted before the end with a leg knock but is confident that the injury is not too serious and he hopes to be available for the next match.
