Falcons Pre-Season

Newcastle Falcons have announced details of their pre-season matches ahead of the 2007/8 Guinness Premiership season.
The Falcons first team has two matches, the first at home to National League One side Doncaster on Sunday August 19. Kick-off at Kingston Park is at 3pm, with ticket details to be announced nearer the time.
Newcastle’s other pre-season fixture is away to Magners League side Glasgow Warriors on Friday August 31. Kick-off and exact match venue in Glasgow are both yet to be confirmed, although it is envisaged this will be an evening game at around 7.30pm.
Director of rugby, John Fletcher, said: “Our pre-season preparations have gone very well so far, and the matches against Glasgow and Doncaster are a vital part of our planning in what promises to be an exciting season.”
These two games complement the three Development outings that the Falcons have scheduled for the pre-season campaign.
The Newcastle second string will travel over the Scottish border to face Jedforest RFC 1st XV on Friday August 17, a match which reunites Newcastle with legendary scrum half Gary Armstrong who is on the Jed coaching staff.
On Saturday August 25 the Falcons will host National League 2 club Wharfedale at Kingston Park, with Newcastle keen to avenge their defeat in Yorkshire last season in Ian Peel’s benefit match. The exact kick-off time is to be confirmed, but this will be an afternoon fixture with free entry to the ground.
The final outing before the start of the new season comes in the form of an Under-20s game against Leeds Carnegie at Kingston Park on Saturday September 2, again with an afternoon kick-off.
